Pets Depression

Only people who have pets know how much they feel like family members. Families take vacations together, hang out together, and help each other through hard times. For a pet lover, being aware of how your pet is feeling is not only essential but also necessary for good care. You can tell when your pet is happy by how active they are and how much they interact with you.

Some common signs of pets depression are losing or gaining weight, having trouble sleeping or sleeping too much, and being tired. Other signs of pets depression are licking the paws, being disobedient, losing interest in fun activities, or hiding in quiet places. When you know your animal’s personality, you will be able to tell if something is wrong because they will act differently. Even the fact that your kids are going back to school after a long break or that your work schedule has changed could be a factor.

The most common causes are:

  • Grief is what you feel when you lose a human or animal friend.
  • Pain that lasts.
  • Trauma, like being hurt, being abused or having long-term stress.
  • Changes in the environment, such as moving, giving up a pet, or bringing a new baby or pet into the home. Even the fact that your kids are going back to school after a long break or that your work schedule has changed could be a factor.
  • Isolation from others.
  • Not enough mental or physical stimulation. This is especially true for breeds full of energy and wanting to work.
